Day 1, Proverbs 1:32-33

"For the simple are killed by their turning away, and the complacency of fools destroys them; but whoever listens to me will dwell secure and will be at ease, without dread of disaster. Pr. 1:32-33, ESV.

Proverbs 1 tells us wisdom is shouting out - if only we would listen. When simpletons turn away from wisdom, they are turning toward death. Whoever listens to wisdom will live securely, at ease, without dread.

That is the heart of this exercise: to hear and listen to wisdom's instructions. Each day we will publish a quote from Proverbs, and a short commentary on it, followed by a simple application.

Join us as we seek to listen to and understand what wisdom tells us about living this life. More importantly, join us as we seek to obey and apply wisdom to daily living.

As the Proverbs say elsewhere: the beginning of wisdom is this: get wisdom. Today, humble yourself enough to seek wisdom - and be wise enough to listen.
