"The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And he who is wise wins souls." Pr. 11:30, NASB.
What a blessing your life can be! Your life, lived well (with righteousness and wisdom), can be like a tree of life, for your family, your neighbors, your co-workers, your boss, you church family, etc., bringing life into the lives around you. Matthew Henry says people like this are the "ornaments of paradise." Do you want to love the people in your life? Become as a tree of life to them; live righteously.
More than just being a bright light in a dark world, the wise man actively wins souls. Wins them to what? Surely he will win them over to God's kingdom. He will win them to his worldview, to his lifestyle, and by his love. Ultimately, he will win them to his God.
Today, let's remember that each choice we make affects who we are, and who we are is either a gift or a curse to our community. Let's choose to grow into a tree of life.
