Day 4, Proverbs 4:7-9

Proverbs 4:7-9:

"The beginning of wisdom is: Acquire wisdom; And with all your acquiring, get understanding. Prize her, and she will exalt you; She will honor you if you embrace her. She will place on your head a garland of grace; She will present you with a crown of beauty." NASB

Even the pursuit of wisdom is a sign of its existence. It may be there only in seedling form, but the desire to grow and mature is the beginning of growth and maturation. This gives great hope to the foolish man. Anyone willing to hear the call of wisdom is already on his way to meet her.

Do you desire wisdom? Then pursue it! Pursue it from God's mouth, as Proverbs 2:6 tells us.

Do you lack the desire for wisdom? I fear for your soul. Pray! Ask God to awaken belief and desire in your heart. Ask him to show you the importance of understanding reality as he made it.

Today's take-away:

I want to be humble enough to reach for wisdom and understanding today. I want to ask questions, read books, listen to people, think hard, seek to learn how to live well.
